Privacy Policy

GrowOperative is a local food app for sharing and trading surplus with people you know and trust, using a running tab in ordinary dollars instead of cash on every exchange. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the GrowOperative mobile app and the growoperative.app website.
Information we collect
- Account information. A username, your name, email address, your role (for example producer, retailer, or consumer), and an optional profile photo. Sign-in is handled through our identity service at auth.foaf.io.
- Content you create. Item listings and their photos, requests and orders, the trust connections and running balances you set up with other members, and related messages and notifications.
- Usage and device information. Basic technical data such as app version, device type, and error logs, used to keep the app reliable.
How we use it
- To run the service: showing nearby listings, arranging trades, and tracking the credit balances between members.
- To send you notifications about requests, orders, and account activity.
- To provide support, keep the community safe, and prevent abuse.
- To diagnose problems and improve the app.
How it is shared
- With other members. The app is built around trade, so the people you connect and trade with can see your relevant profile details, listings, and the balance between you.
- With service providers. Companies that host our infrastructure, our identity service (auth.foaf.io), and the app stores that distribute the app. They may only process data on our behalf.
- When required by law. If we must comply with a legal obligation or protect rights and safety.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not use third-party advertising networks.
Data retention
We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account we remove your personal data, except for limited records we are required to keep for legal or accounting reasons, which we retain for no longer than necessary and then delete. See Account Deletion for details.
Your choices
You can review and update your profile in the app, and you can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Account Deletion). To ask about the data we hold, contact us at the address below.
Children
GrowOperative is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
